Picnic at the Park
These pictures were taken at a picnic we went on the other day with our Kindergartners. The kids played with bubbles, did relay races, and competed in tug o war! It was a gorgeous day at a beautiful park!

First Week of Teaching
The first week of teaching is over and boy am I exhausted! After hours and hours of training, observing, lesson planning, and getting to know the students, it has surely paid off. The first week was a success and hope it continues that way.
I am teaching full day Kindergarten. I have 10 kids between the ages of 6 and 7 and are the oldest Kindergartners at our school. They are incredibly smart and such sweethearts! These kids are able to speak, read, and write in English while keeping their Korean language and culture outside of school. This is by far my favorite group of students!
After Kindergarten, I teach E1, which are younger elementary students whom are between the ages of 8 and 9. These students come to my school after their regular Korean school, these kids are getting a lot of schooling during the week. I have 12 in my classroom and they are well-behaved for the most part. The boys like to show off for the girls! But students bring me treats all the time, one brought me coffee and I was extremely grateful!
After E1, I have E2 students, which are 4, 13 year old boys...oh what an interesting class! These boys are pretty lazy but laugh at random things, some times I think they are laughing at me...but I just give them weird looks. I am sure these boys really don't want to be here since they attend my school from 5-7pm. Actually, at that point, I don't want to be there either. But I try to make it fun for them and get them to talk as much as possible.
One procedure they do when a student is joining our school is changing their name to an English name. A few keep their names but I have some fun ones, such as Barbie, Obama, Yerim, JuEun, Raymond, and Yoonoo. They also don't look the same, common stereotype, but they are all cute in their own ways!
I know that I am going to be happy here and I can't wait to see how my students learn and grow.
